White Walls

Today it seems my scenery
Was to be nothing but white walls;
No single hint of greenery
Or epic views of waterfalls.

But with some imagination
This little box room becomes more:
A new world of my creation,
I have the freedom explore.

When I need calm I write the words
To make a place no one can find;
Among the wild flowers, songbirds
And the bright blue skies of my mind.

With a single blink it changes.
The scene is now an endless maze,
Where an untamed dragon rages,
Painted in red, a world ablaze.

This is the wonder of writing;
With a few quickly noted scrawls
I can make the world more exciting,
Instead of looking at white walls.
